A contact grill is often referred to as a sandwich press, but there is far more to this appliance than simply being a toastie maker. These high performance commercial grills are incredibly versatile and use a combination of heated plates and pressure to cook food quickly. Much like griddles, they are fantastic for cooking meat such as burgers and steaks.
Flat plate contact grills offer an even heat distribution and faster cooking times, while ribbed plates are the preferred choice if you plan to use it as a panini press or toastie sandwich maker. These plates leave attractive 'branding' lines to provide an authentic panini grill appearance. It's also a far healthier option when grilling meat, as the channels between the grooves help to drain away grease and fat. For an alternative grilling option, you could also try our salamander grill range.
