A reliable commercial freezer is essential for long-term food storage in professional kitchens. Far more powerful than the type of freezer used at home, commercial freezers are made with advanced components to cope with the demands of intense everyday use. With the largest capacities capable of holding ingredients worth thousands of dollars, choosing a freezer unsuitable for commercial use is likely to result in an extremely costly malfunction.

The most powerful industrial freezer is designed to hold its temperature even when the door is frequently opened and closed. Busy kitchens can also get incredibly hot, but a tropical-rated commercial freezer will excel in conditions of up to 43°C. For lower room temperatures or less demanding environments, a lighter duty model would be suitable. Using a blast chiller is an even faster way of freezing hot food safely, while a commercial fridge provides a dependable short-term storage option for fresh food.
